This new version of SDMS Simplex meets the needs of Businesses, whatever their size, to manage both Employee Training and Learning as well as the performance appraisal of staff regardless of role or grade. It combines - Learning Management and Training Administration, Evaluation of Training as well as Appraisal - in a single easy to use system.

It thereby provides an essential set of tools for ensuring compliance with both internal and external requirements such as health and safety, supplier contract audit, business liability as well as a wide variety of Professional Standards. This is achieved by bringing together for each employee a single record of their Training and Development, Skills and Appraisals.

Training Activities

Training and Full Course Management and Administration

Training and learning activities can be recorded, whether in Company or external, with details on the type of activity, skills and training area, organiser, provider and summary of the course entered. Further details of when the course is running with closing dates can be entered. Costs can be recorded for the activity as a whole and also costs of training can be entered for individual Staff. Cost categories are user definable. These are used to enable Companies to closely control staff development and training budgets.

Details of enrolments with acceptance, waiting lists, application date and approval can be recorded simply and easily.

Individual learning records can be maintained.

Training Evaluation

Training Evaluations

Course Evaluation Questionnaires can be set up and delegate responses to the quality and usefulness of training recorded and analysed to support the effective monitoring of training. Delegate evaluation reports include: Forms Received and Missing Evaluation Forms.

Appraisal

Appraisal and Training Needs

SDMS Simplex Training and Learning Manager for Business also allows you to set up and schedule a range of appraisal meetings from the initial focus or agenda setting meeting, through task observations to formal appraisal interviews and performance target setting. Dates, times and those involved can all be logged and for each key element of appraisal, together with detailed summaries. Agreed appraisal targets and actions can be recorded, assigned a weighting and priority to aid on-going development and follow up. SDMS Simplex supports the management of appraiser-appraisee pairings with the ability to assign multiple appraisers in each appraisal.

Staff

Staff Details, Qualifications, Skills and Training History

Personnel information is held for all Staff including names, addresses, telephone numbers, gender and ethnicity. Training histories and records are maintained for all employees and automatically updated as they apply for and attend training events. A full employee profile of competencies, qualifications, and skills can be held (including Professional Standards). Integration with other Business Systems is enabled by standard data imports allowing key data of staff reference, type of staff and name to be imported from other Systems.

Report

Reporting is Standard

Standard reports built into SDMS Simplex Training and Learning Manager for Business enable the user to analyse learning and training events, training evaluation, appraisals and equal opportunities. Simplex integrates with Microsoft Office™ to enable the user to take advantage of elements within the Office™ range. Microsoft Word™ can receive the formatted reports from SDMS Simplex which can then be incorporated with other documents or be amended before printing. Data held in Simplex can also be output to Microsoft Excel™ so that the user can perform further analysis of the data using the features of Excel™ (such as Pivot Tables).
